Causes for negative printing lines
Relatively continuous imperfections in the printed area which is affecting single cell rows. Always appearing in web direction. These lines must not necessarily move with the doctor blade oscillation. Often foreign particles which are stuck underneath the doctor blade lamella.
Solution
Solutions for negative printing lines
1. Check ink for dirt and foreign particles, clogged filters and replace ink if necessary.
2. Polish gravure cylinder carefully with fine sandpaper or lift up the doctor blade holder and wipe doctor blade tip with rag and solvent.
3. Check doctor blade angle and adjust accordingly.
