Cant angle too sharp

Problem case

A too sharp set cant angle reduces the lifetime of the knife, increases the risk of breakouts especially on carbide knives and increases the speed loss between upper and bottom knife.

Solution

  • Reduce cant angle, max. 0,5°, on carbide knives ≤0,25°

Assist:
A bevel box is suitable for inspecting the cant angle or a cutting test via a paper strip or adhesive foil (cling film).
