Cant angle too flat
Problem case
A flat cant angle close to zero results in a poor unclean, torn cut, increased dust formation and as worst-case ribbon breaks.
Attention:
Should the knife holder or the bearings have too much clearance due to wear and tear, it results that the pre-set angle cannot be maintained. The cant angle will turn towards zero due to lateral contact pressure.
Solution
- Check cant angle and adjust, service or change knife holder if necessary.
Assist:
A bevel box is suitable for inspecting the cant angle or a cutting test via a paper strip or adhesive foil (cling film).
