Causes for Bleeding
The smudging which bleeds out from printed areas into unprinted is often a symptom for ink with bad resistance towards moisture or incorrect drying time. In some cases an extremely flat doctor blade setting can also cause bleeding.

Solution

Solutions for Bleeding
1. Check the correct web temperature for your substrate and ink and increase the heater or air speed if necessary.
2. Check ink viscosity and adjust with solvent or additives if possible.
3. Check drying time for ink printability and adjust with faster drying solvents.
4. Check doctor blade angle and adjust accordingly.
